October 2011: HLA was notified that all four of its Missile Defense Agency (MiDAESS) task orders would be extended for the option year, starting in November/December 2011.
September 2011:
Dave Hall was added to the HLA Huntsville office as director of Huntsville operations. He and HLA Senior Associate Julie McClure are HLA's fulltime representatives in Huntsville.
September 2011:
HLA was awarded a multiyear contract by the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to provide event management assistance at the Bethesda campus.
June 2011:
HLA's GSA AIMS (Advertising and Integrated Marketing Solutions) Schedule was renewed for another five years, until June 2016. This is HLA's primary GSA Schedule for event management. HLA's GSA MOBIS Schedule was renewed in 2010, and is effective until 2015.
April 2011:
The HLA conference management team traveled to Barcelona, Spain to provide logistical support for a four day international workshop sponsored by the U.S. Government. Thirteen countries were represented at the event.
March 2011:
Harlan Lee conducted a protocol class in Honolulu for members of the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association who will be involved in preparations for the November 2011 APEC Summit.
February 2011:
HLA provided support in Atlanta to the State Department Board of Examiners team conducting oral interviews of Foreign Service candidates.
2010:
November/December 2010: HLA was awarded four task orders to provide a wide range of support services to MDA locations in the National Capital Region, Huntsville, Dahlgren and Colorado Springs.
August 2010: HLA was one of three small business prime contractors awarded a five year IDIQ contract to provide advisory and assistance services to the Chief of Staff Directorate, Human Resources Directorate, and Public Affairs at the Missile Defense Agency in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense System. Members of the HLA team include CSC, Paradigm Technologies, Quantech Services, National Institute for Public Policy, Venturi Aerospace, SAIC, BCF Solutions and Applied Analytical Solutions, Inc. COLSA, DMD, MAGI and Gray Research are also members of the team.
May 2010: HLA received a Fast 50 Business Award, recognized as one of the top 50 fastest growing Asian American-owned businesses in the country by the U.S. Pan-Asian American Chamber of Commerce. HLA was nominated for this award by the U.S. State Department.
March 2010: For the fourth consecutive year, HLA provided logistics support to the NOAA Pacific Services Center for the annual Pacific Risk Management 'Ohana (PRiMO) conference, held this year in Honolulu from March 16 - 19. In addition to the two day PRiMO schedule, this year's event featured a half day program on Public Risk Perception and Communication, and an introduction to the NOAA Coastal Storms program.
February 2010: HLA provided logistics support for a series of meetings at the Pentagon on Afghanistan hosted by the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.
2009:
August 2009: HLA President Harlan Lee presented a workshop on "Green Conferencing for Protocol Professionals" at the 2009 PDI-POA Protocol Officers Educational Forum in Washington, DC.
June 2009: HLA's Missile Defense Agency Protocol and Event Management Team won the agency's top Team Administrative Support Award at MDA's annual awards day on June 25. HLA is teamed with Paradigm Technologies on this agency-wide contract, which includes protocol staff in Washington, DC; Huntsville, Alabama; Dahlgren, Virginia; Vandenberg AFB, California; and Ft. Greely, Alaska.
May 2009: Congratulations to HLA Senior Associate and Protocol Consultant Kathleen Ryan, who has returned to the U.S. Air Force as Director of Protocol. We will continue to work with Kathleen in her role as Vice President of Protocol and Diplomacy International - Protocol Officers Association (PDI-POA). She is the host city lead person for this year's PDI-POA annual gathering, to take place in Washington DC in early August.
March 2009: HLA provided logistics assistance to the Pacific Risk Management Ohana (PRiMO) conference in Guam. The three day event was held at the Outrigger Hotel at Tumon Bay. Guam Governor Camacho opened the conference, which was attended by approximately 80 participants.
February 2009: HLA assisted the Australian Secretariat of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament (ICNND) to stage the second meeting of the Commissioners and Advisory Board members, in Washington, DC.
February 2009: HLA provided logistics support to the State Department's Board of Examiners for oral interviews held in Atlanta, Georgia. During the past year, HLA provided similar support for BEX oral interviews in San Francisco and Chicago.
